Preliminary Design Review

A clause-by-clause assessment and construction-based evaluation of your design (schematics, BOM, enclosure plans, basic mechanical/thermal provisions) against the requirements of IEC 62368-1, 61010-1, 60335-1, UL/CSA deviations, and relevant enclosure/IP standards.
This identifies non-conformities before testing. Best for: design reviews prior to prototype build or lab engagement.

Scope

Review schematics, drawings, block diagrams, and construction details against safety requirements in applicable standards.

Identify non-conformities related to:

  • Findings report outlining the results of our evaluation to your product(s) against standard requirements. Additionally, a summary of non-conformities with referenced clause numbers

  • Flag non-compliant safety-critical design elements “non-conformities” or “borderline risk” flags (e.g. clearance/creepage, insulation class issues, enclosure or IP mismatch, component compliance concerns)

  • Enclosure, IP, and environmental suitability check (IEC 60529, UL 50/50E)

  • Enclosure and environmental suitability check (incl. IP/UL-50/50E, if relevant)

  • Marking & labeling requirements list

Review schematics, drawings, block diagrams, and construction details against safety requirements in applicable IEC, UL, CSA, and EN standards.

Identify non-conformities related to:

  • Insulation systems

  • Protective bonding

  • Creepage and clearance values

  • Overcurrent and thermal protection

  • Mechanical and enclosure requirements

  • Energy sources and access levels (per IEC/EN categories)
    • Assess alignment between IEC and UL/CSA construction rules where differences may affect testing outcomes.
